How to Get Rid of Chronic Gouty Arthritis

Are you experiencing stiffness or pain around your neck, back, and arms, and massages and plasters cannot relieve your pain at all? That's because it's not a simple stiffness that you think.

Even if you place hundreds of plasters or ask your massage expert, and even if you place a hot compress on your shoulder, you will have no satisfactory result at all.

Applying hot compress, plasters, or massage, should eliminate and relieve 'common' stiff shoulders and simple pains. If not, then you might have "Chronic Gouty Arthritis".

In chronic gouty arthritis, the place where you feel pain is not the area that has to be treated. It's a common mistake to assume that the problem is at the place that hurts! This symptom is commonly known as "referred pain". Referred pain is defined as pain that is felt not at its source but in another part of the body.

More importantly, identifying which part of the body is causing the pain can be very tricky. If you're suffering from this condition, it is advisable to visit your physician or shiatsu (acupressure) therapist. Shiatsu therapists can locate the area of the body causing the pain by means of "acupressure" . The source of pain is called the "trigger point". Now you may ask why the trigger point and the area of pain are in different location of the body. That's a good question.

If we stay in a position or attitude for a long period of time, the blood circulation will deteriorate and the surrounding muscles will be affected. Such condition will create stiffness. This stiffness or pain can be eradicated easily by massage or applying hot compress. When the pain is chronic, you can suspect it as chronic gouty arthritis.

But how those simple pains happened to become chronic gouty arthritis? Continuous signals or signs of pain sent to your brain will significantly increase, and your brain will memorize it as real pain. The brain will register the designated part of the muscle as PAIN and becomes a trigger point. That's how trigger point is created. If the pain continuously stimulates the area, the area will have a tendency to expand and increases the trigger point. Then, you will feel pains all over the body for the whole day.

It is really a pain created by the brain due to misinformation, just like an illusion out of wrong information and incorrect memory of the brain.

If the trigger points are left untreated, the muscle surrounding it may harden and even the bones will be deformed. There are cases where the arms cannot move at all.

In fact, all the pain is just an illusion. If treatment is neglected, it will create trigger points. It is very important to consult your physician for diagnosis before it gets worse.

## How Trigger Points Are Found

The illustration below shows the acupressure points. The attending physician will strongly press the points with their finger. If you feel pain somewhere in your body when a certain point is pressed, then you've found the trigger point.

On the trigger points, you can ask your physician to use anesthetic injection to reduce the stressed muscle and remove pains. This simple anesthetic injection will make the blood circulation smoother. Once the blood circulation is improved, the treated area will naturally get well, and will eventually heal. Is it so easy and simple? Yes, it is, when you know it.

Of course, there are times that one anesthetic injection is not enough to yield satisfactory result. Some patients may need one injection every week for about 3-4 weeks.

Another way of treatment is acupuncture (treatment with needles). Acupuncture has more than 4,000 years of history. There are patients who suffer from pains on the waist area, and the trigger points were under the arms.

Slow moving exercise like Tai Chi and acupuncture will help prevent chronic gouty arthritis. Good luck!

Pain Syndromes and Pain Management

Acute and chronic pain effects over 100 million people in the United States each year. While pain is best known and characterized as subjective, meaning only the person who is experiencing it can explain what it feels like, pain is often called the Universal equalizer. Pain affects people differently. What may be perceived as only a minor nuisance to one person, may be completely debilitating to someone else. Pain is a warning that something isn't quite right. Pain is not a disease in itself but the result of an underlying condition or due to injury.. Pain is not just a physical sensation or psychological event, but a combination of these and other components.

Pain can be caused by a variety of situations such as accidents, musculoskeletal disorders, improper lifting, bending, sports activities, misalignment of the vertebrae of the spine and disease. It can also appear out of nowhere with no obvious cause.. A viral illness may possibly be a cause, or emotional trauma, such as fear or resentment. n the vast majority of cases, pain is caused by stasis of blood and or our body's energy resulting in muscle spasm, trauma and immobility.

From a healthy heart to a good sex life, the proper flow and circulation of blood in our arteries is one of the most important things we can do to maintain good health, a pain free life and push back the aging process.

There is a common denominator between good arterial health and pain disorders such as heart attack, obesity, diabetes and high glucose levels, as well as sexual health. That common denominator is blood.

Pain is a vicious cycle: spasm and inflammation lead to more spasm and inflammation. Although the cycle can develop due to injury, the ultimate cause is often in the brain, which can interfere with muscle physiology through the spinal cord. Chronic (long term) and acute back (and neck) pain are common expressions of stress and emotional stress. This demonstrates the true complexity of the mind/body interaction. Many times it is the brain's distortion of muscle function that sets us up for pain by preventing muscles from responding freely to physical stresses.

Acute pain can result from disease, inflammation, or injury to tissues. This type of pain generally comes on suddenly, for example, after trauma or surgery, and may be accompanied by anxiety or emotional distress. The cause of acute pain can usually be diagnosed and treated, and the pain is self-limiting, that is, it is confined to a given period of time and severity. In some rare instances, it can become chronic.

Chronic pain is widely believed to represent disease itself. It can be made much worse by environmental and psychological factors. Chronic pain persists over a longer period of time than acute pain and is resistant to most medical treatments. It can often cause severe problems for patients.

In assessing pain, a useful approach is to assess pain intensity (sensory), pain relief (cognitive), pain location, pain distress (affective), behavioral patterns or other similar sensory aspects of pain.

Without a doubt, added stress and strains can take its toll on your spinal and nervous system. Maintaining a physically fit body, awareness of body positions, a clean and detoxified internal system, keeping fears, stress and insecurities in check and careful execution physically, through each day are all great ways to avoid daily aches and pains.

Common Pain Syndromes

1. Inflammation: can be caused by injury, joint diseases, tumors, infection, abscesses, misalignment. The cause is usually clearly defined and is medically classified as Calor, dolor, rubor, and tumor: Heat, pain, redness, and swelling. The four classical signs of inflammation.

2. Physical Injury: are defined as cuts, broken bones, sprains and strains and can manifest as intense burning pain or deep aching pain.

3. Widened Inflamed Blood Vessels: considered migraines, headaches or temporal arteritis. This is defined as pulsing, throbbing intense pain and localized to the area of inflamed blood vessels.

4. Insufficient Blood Flow: considered angina, leg pain, pain from exercise or in some cultures the definition of pain itself; blood stagnation.

5. Nerve Pain: expressed as shingles, diabetic neuropathy and sciatica. This sensation is that of tingling or burning pain and may radiate along nerve pathways.

6. Toxemia: which is caused by the ingestion and accumulation of substances which are foreign to the body and toxic in nature, such as chemicals, drugs, etc. These produce irritation, inflammation and pathology in bodily organs and systems. Toxemia, which is also due to the accumulation of toxic wastes resulting from the food and beverages we eat and drink; unnatural food or natural food in excess beyond what the body can use at the moment.

7. Deficiencies: The insufficiency of necessary food substances, such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, enzymes etc., lead to breakdown of cells, tissues and organs which is given names of diseases, according to its location.

8. Enervation: is the reduction or loss of energy due to the lack of rest or sleep, or the excessive use of emotion, negative thoughts, worry, stress, or the overdoing of physical actions, overeating etc. Enervation leads to a reduction of the body's ability to digest, absorb, assimilate and excrete body wastes - thus leading to a retention of wastes in the cells and tissues and thereby causing disease.

Source of Relief from Pain

1. Cold Applications: This application often feels best on acute injuries, where the pain is often hot to the touch or has a feeling of heat radiating from it. Ice numbs the area, reducing pain. It also constricts blood vessels, limiting blood supply to the injured site. This action decreases swelling. Ice can also decrease muscle spasms. If an area is painful to move or swells after exercise, use ice. Apply ice or a frozen object, such as a bag of corn from the freezer, to the injury. Be sure the area is protected from the cold application and not applied directly to the skin. The cold will reduce swelling and pain at the injured site. This step should be done as soon as possible. Apply the frozen object to the area for 20 minutes, every two to three hours for the first 48 hours.

2. Hot Applications: This application is often most affective for chronic injuries or pain that is cold to the touch or has cold radiating from it. It is very useful with injuries agitate by cold or damp weather. Heat increases local blood supply, bringing healing cells to the area and potentially relaxing tight muscles. Use moist, hot towels or microwavable heat packs for no more than 10 to 15 minutes several times a day. Never sleep on a heating pad.

3. Anti-inflammatories : from aspirin to herbal compresses, anti-inflammatory applications can reduce the recovery time by half if done within the first 24-48 hours of an injury or painful attack.

4. Lancing or Draining Abscesses: reducing swelling from painful sprains and strains and toxic swellings from insect bites are all very important reasons for lancing and draining an injured area. In Chinese Medicine, cupping is done after the lancing to draw out the blood from the area. This is a very affective method used to decrease the amount of time it takes for the area to heal.

5. Rest: This can be the best medicine for any condition from a cold to a broken bone. Rest rejuvenates, repairs and reassembles. For acute injury, rest and protect the injured area. If it hurts to bear weight on the injury, use crutches, if it hurts to move the area immobilize it with a splint.

6. Compression and elevation: tend to go hand in hand. Compress the injured site by applying an Ace bandage. This will decreases swelling of the injured region. Although the wrap should be snug, make sure it is not too tight as this can cause numbness, tingling, or increased pain.

7. Elevation of the injured area: above the level of the heart as much as possible. This technique will also assist in reducing the amount of swelling to the injured site.

8. Exercise conditioning and stretching: certain pains can improve from stretching such as painful stiff muscles and joints by increasing blood flow to these areas. Weight baring exercises are beneficial for improving strength and bone density. Restoring movement and normal function to an injured area is critical. Learn to stretch to improve your flexibility.

9. Dietary Changes: So many aches and pains can be eliminated by the proper foods we choose to eat. Weight gain affects our joints, heart, circulation and blood pressure among other conditions. Change your diet and change your life.

10. Root Cause Treatment: Pain is the result of injury or disease. With acute pain, the cause is often obvious. A fall resulting in a painful scrape or twisted ankle. In chronic pain, often the pain has been with you for so long, it is hard to pinpoint the real cause or root cause of the disorder. Most alternative health therapies see the occurence of disease as the results from an imbalance. The treating of the root of primary cause of disease is what makes a root cause treatment very affective in the long term. It does not just treat the symptoms of that disease.

Breast cancer-information,cures,symptoms,survivors,statistics,diagnosis,treatment

There are chances that Most women will develop breast cancer at some time in their life.

First of all, remember that breast cancer is a treatable disease.

There are four kinds of treatment. One or more of these may be used for you depending upon what you need and want. The four ways of treating breast cancer are:

1. Surgery (Removing the cancer with an operation.)
2. Radiation therapy (Killing the cancer cells with special x-rays.)
3. Chemotherapy (Killing the cancer cells with drugs.)
4. Hormone therapy (Stopping the cells from growing with hormone drugs.

Each of these four treatments is described in more detail later in this document.

Your doctor should tell you what kind of breast cancer you have and the stage it is in (that is, if it has spread and, if so, how far it has spread).

Some breast cancer can be treated in several different ways, and you may have a choice of treatments. If your doctor tells you that you do have a choice, you should take time to decide which treatment you would prefer.

Unfortunately, some breast cancer can only be treated in one, specific way, so not all persons have a choice of treatment. Before making any decision or starting any treatment, you may wish to talk with each doctor who may be giving you a particular type of treatment:

  1. A surgeon removes breast cancer with an operation
  2. A radiation oncologist gives breast cancer patients special x-rays to kill their cancer cells.
  3. A medical oncologist treats breast cancer patients, including selecting the drugs that can be used to kill their cancer cells or stop their cancer cells from growing.
  4. A plastic surgeon rebuilds the breasts after an operation.

You have a right to get a second opinion from another doctor if you wish.

You also may wish to participate in a clinical trial of a new or potentially improved treatment, and you should ask your doctor about these options if you are interested.

Foods to Boost Your Immunity

Food used as a preventative to dis-ease and as an essential part of medicine has been established for over 4000 years by physicians of natural medicine. Food is a major determinant of health that is directly under our control. We cannot always control pollution, hereditary factors, noise, environment, and the social and emotional behaviors of others, but we can certainly choose what and what not to eat. I hope that you will pay attention to the principles of food medicine and incorporate this natural and powerful healing component into daily living, because anything we do three times a day will have an effect on our body!

Acidophilus - The normal, healthy colon contains "friendly" bacteria (85% lactobacillus and 15% coliform bacteria). It is the friendly bacterial flora found in yogurt and is essential to the digestive system. When these bacteria are not in balance, then the person may experience bloating, flatulence, constipation, and mal-absorption of nutrients. Acidophilus taken as a dietary supplement may help to detoxify and to rebuild a balanced intestinal flora. It is used for the prevention of Candida as well as for treatment. Acidophilus aids the digestion and helps to replace the "friendly" intestinal flora.

Asparagus - Asparagus is spring's most luxurious vegetable. It was once cultivated for medicinal purposes as a natural remedy for blood cleansing and diuretic properties. Asparagus is rich in immunity-enhancing antioxidants and vitamins. Asparagus can be processed into juice and other products to increase total utilization and increase net value. Asparagus juice contains antioxidants, such as rutin, ferulic acid and ascorbic acid. When buying asparagus look for compact tips and smooth green stems that are uniform in color down the length of the stem. Check the cut stem end for drying and avoid withered spears. Asparagus is low in calories and provides substantial amounts of antioxidants - Vitamins A and C. It truly shines as a source of folate and has a goodly amount of fiber.

Black and Green Tea - For years, studies have indicated that the antioxidants in green tea offer protection against diseases, including cancer, and even fight dental cavities. One of the most beneficial of these antioxidants is called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). According to the University of California Wellness Letter, Mar 2002, regular black tea is turning out to be just as healthful as green tea. The evidence for tea's health effects comes mainly from lab studies, though some human studies point to possible benefits in preventing heart disease and cancer. EGCG, inhibited an enzyme that cancer cells need in order to grow. The cancer cells that couldn't grow big enough to divide self-destructed. It would take about 4-10 cups of green tea a day to get the blood levels of EGCG that inhibited cancer in the study. Black tea also contains EGCG, but at lower concentrations.

Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Strawberries - Antioxidant compounds found in blueberries, sweet cherries, strawberries and blackberries may fight arterial disease by preventing the oxidation of LDL (''bad'') cholesterol, according to a team of researchers at the University of California, Davis. In studies conducted at the University, Dr. I. Marina Heinonen, a visiting scientist from the University of Helsinki in Finland, and colleagues extracted antioxidant compounds from blackberries, red raspberries, sweet cherries, blueberries and strawberries. In a series of experiments in laboratory culture dishes, they found that blackberries and Blueberries are of particular interest because of their high antioxidant capacity. They had the most antioxidant activity in one experiment and sweet cherries in another.

Broccoli - Broccoli is known as the "Crown Jewel of Nutrition" for its vitamin-rich, high in fiber, and low in calorie properties. Not only does broccoli give you the best vegetable nutrition available, it also gives you many ways to lead a healthier, longer life. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States with cancer as the second, and broccoli gives you many ways to help fight and prevent these and other diseases. Broccoli has multiple cancer-fighting properties including vitamin C, beta carotene, and fiber. It is also rich of phytochemicals which appear to offer us protection against certain cancers and heart disease. Indole carbinol and sulforaphane are two different phytochemicals that are found in broccoli.

Various Sources of Carotenoids

Carotenoids - of which beta-carotenes are the most popular, are found in many fruits and vegetables, animals, plants and microorganisms. The body converts beta carotene into Vitamin A. Vitamin A is a fat- soluble vitamin essential for vision, growth, cell division, reproduction and immunity. Among the 600 or more carotenoids in foods, beta-carotene, lycopene, and lutein are well-known leaders in the fight to reduce the damage from free radicals.

Citrus Fruits - Hundreds of studies have been conducted on the nutrients found in citrus fruit, including orange juice, and the role these nutrients play in reducing the risk of such diseases as cancer and heart disease, when part of a low fat diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Citrus fruit, which contain essential vitamins and minerals, are an important part of a healthy diet for all men, women and children. In both fresh and juice form, citrus - including oranges, grapefruit and specialty varieties such a temple oranges, tangerines and tangelos - have many important nutritional benefits.

Ginger - Warming and antiseptic to the viscera, ginger is used for deficient cold, digestive weakness, diarrhea, anorexia, vomiting and indigestion. Slice 6-8 pieces of fresh ginger and boil in 2 cups of water. Let this aromatic tea brew for 15 minutes and drink two-three cups a day.

Onion - An important immune booster, diaphoretic and lubricant for muscles, onions are rich in sulfur compounds called Thiosulfinates. They are anti-inflammatory and contain Vitamin C, Quercetin and a powerful antioxidant.

Various sources of Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 Fatty Acids - The omega 3 fatty acids in flax oil and fatty fish (such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel) act as immune boosters by increasing the activity of white blood cells, which consume bacteria. Essential fatty acids also protect the body against damage from over-reactions to infection. Take essential fatty acid supplements, such as flax or fish oil and add additional vitamin E, which works in synergy with essential fatty acids to boost the immune system. An easy way to get your daily dose is to add one to three teaspoons of flax oil to a fruit and yogurt smoothies.

Familial Mediterranean Fever - symptoms and signs,Diagonosis,Treatments and Drugs

Familial Mediterranean fever is an inherited disorder characterized by recurrent bouts of fever and peritonitis, sometimes with pleuritis, skin lesions, arthritis, and, very rarely, pericarditis. Renal amyloidosis may develop, which may lead to renal failure. Descendants of inhabitants of the Mediterranean basin are most affected. Diagnosis is largely clinical, although genetic testing is available. Treatment with prophylactic colchicine prevents acute attacks as well as renal amyloidosis in most patients. Prognosis is excellent with treatment.

Symptoms and Signs

Onset is usually between the ages of 5 and 15 yr but may be much later or earlier, even during infancy. Attacks have no regular pattern of recurrence and vary in the same patient. They usually last 24 to 72 h, but some last ≥ 1 wk. Frequency ranges from 2 attacks/wk to 1 attack/yr (most commonly once every 2 to 6 wk). Severity and frequency tend to decrease during pregnancy and with amyloidosis. Spontaneous remissions may last years.

Fever as high as 40° C, usually accompanied by peritonitis, is the major manifestation. Abdominal pain (usually starting in one quadrant and spreading to the whole abdomen) occurs in about 95% of patients and can vary in severity with each attack. Decreased bowel sounds, distention, guarding, and rebound tenderness are likely to occur at the peak of an attack and cannot be differentiated from a perforated viscus on physical examination. Consequently, many patients undergo urgent laparotomy before the correct diagnosis is made. With diaphragmatic involvement, splinting of the chest and pain in one or both shoulders may occur.

Other manifestations include acute pleurisy (in 30%); arthritis (in 25%), usually involving the knee, ankle, and hip; an erysipelas-like rash of the lower leg; and scrotal swelling and pain caused by inflammation of the tunica vaginalis of the testis. Pericarditis occurs very rarely. However, the pleural, synovial, and skin manifestations of FMF vary in frequency among different populations and are less frequently encountered in the US than elsewhere.

The most significant long-term complication of FMF is chronic renal failure caused by deposition of amyloid protein in the kidneys. Amyloid deposition may also occur in the GI tract, liver, spleen, heart, testes, and thyroid.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis is mainly clinical, but genetic testing is now available and is particularly useful in the evaluation of atypical cases. Nonspecific findings include elevated WBCs with neutrophil predominance, ESR, C-reactive protein, and fibrinogen. Urinary excretion of > 0.5 g protein/24 h suggests renal amyloidosis. Differential diagnosis includes acute intermittent porphyria, hereditary angioedema with abdominal attacks, relapsing pancreatitis, and other hereditary relapsing fevers.

While there's no cure for familial Mediterranean fever, there is effective treatment. The most successful treatment for familial Mediterranean fever is a drug called colchicine.

Colchicine is a drug, usually taken as a pill, which reduces inflammation in your body. Some people might need to take just one dose a day, while others might require multiple doses to prevent attacks. People who are able to "predict" an impending attack are often able to stop those attacks before they start by taking colchicine. Taking colchicine after your symptoms appear, however, isn't effective.

Reducing the frequency and intensity

When you stick to your colchicine schedule, the drug will likely reduce the frequency and intensity of your symptoms. It also lowers your risk of complications, especially amyloidosis. Colchicine can cause side effects, such as pain, tingling or numbness in your hands or feet, or muscle weakness, especially in older men who are heavy drinkers or whose kidneys aren't functioning properly. However, colchicine therapy is generally considered safe, even when taken over the course of decades. If your symptoms are not controlled by colchicine, then interferon alpha, thalidomide, etanercept, infliximab or anakinra may be recommended.

In addition to colchicine therapy, you may find that the frequency and the severity of your symptoms lessen as you age or if you become pregnant. It's not certain why symptoms may improve at either of these times, but it may be related to changes in your immune system.

Lifestyle and home remedies

These tips can help you manage familial Mediterranean fever:

  • Take your medication on schedule. Sticking to your colchicine regimen is crucial for relieving your symptoms and preventing complications. Taking colchicine on a regular schedule may also reduce side effects of the medication. Tricks to help you remember to take your medicine — such as taking it right after you brush your teeth or tacking a note to the refrigerator door — may prove helpful.
  • Discuss pregnancy with your doctor. If you'd like to start a family, talk to your doctor about how you can increase the chances that your baby will be healthy. Fortunately, colchicine therapy isn't associated with an increased risk of infertility or of abnormalities in a developing baby.
  • Fine-tune your diet. Some people with FMF notice that their attacks are lessened by following a low-fat diet. One side effect of colchicine therapy is lactose intolerance, so if you experience abdominal discomfort, such as bloating, a lactose-free diet may improve your symptoms.

Prostate Massage

The healing is ALWAYS done by nature and fresh healthy blood. But, even if the blood is healthy, when it can not reach the prostate gland in sufficient quantity, the prostate can and will from a variety of diseases. The prostate gland is responsible for producing a large percentage of a man's ejaculate, and it is healthy and desirable to fully drain this fluid regularly.

Prostate massage is a healthy and pleasurable activity that can be enjoyed as part of your intimate life. A 10-20 minute prostate massage at least once a month, and as often as once a day, is important for a healthy gland. The whole purpose of this external prostate massage is to bring some new fresh circulation to the area and keep it fresh and healthy.

Today, it is fast becoming widely recommended, as prostate massage has been discovered to complement and enhance the effectiveness of antimicrobial, antibiotic and herbal remedies by facilitating prostate gland circulation. Prostate massage is considered a healthy activity for all men who are not experiencing severe symptoms of a prostate condition and is once again becoming more widely recommended as researchers discover that prostate massage complements and increases the effectiveness of antibiotics, antimicrobials or herbal remedies by facilitating circulation to the prostate gland.

It is often recommended as an alternative form of sexual interaction when a person's partner is unavailable or he simply does not want to participate in other sexual intercourse activities. However, there are instances when prostate massage is not recommended for those who have acute prostatitis, as it can promote the spread of infection to other parts of the body. Prostate massage is not recommended for men with prostate cancer, as you can cause the cancer to metastasize, or for men with a prostate infection, since the infection can spread.

Prostate massage is the massage or stimulation of the prostate gland in males for medical purposes. A prostate massage is a good way to drain the prostate. A prostate massage is known to give some positive results in treatment of prostatits as a stand alone procedure or in conjunction with prostate medicines like antibiotics. A prostate massage is a great way to experience new sensations and this highly erotic massage technique will allow you to explore the power of your sensuality to the full.

A prostate massage is performed by massaging the prostate and can be accomplished in more than one way. The most common way in which a prostate massage is performed is by direct contact through the anus. The purpose of a prostate massage is to excrete fluid from the inflamed prostate, which is believed to relieve the prostate infection and inflammation. The only reasons that speaks against a self prostate massage is a possible infection. Latex medical gloves are also recommended as a guard against bacteria introduction.

Author Plato Rosinke says young men as well as old are suffering from prostate problems. Prostate massage is good to prevent prostate problems such as prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is also good for relieving the symptoms of prostate problems of BPH. If caught early enough, additional problems are preventable; it is common to have an enlarged prostate before experiencing symptoms. Sometimes the massage may take longer because the object is to free the gland of congestion {that may lead to prostate problems such as blockage which can lead to prostatitis, cancer and other problems including sexual dysfunction} .

Yoga For Stress Relief: Top 10 Excuses For Not Doing Yoga and Avoiding Stress Relief

6/5/09 If you do yoga:

1. You will look young and energetic instead of old and tired and will have to give up lecturing younger people on how much easier they have it than you did when you were their age.

2. You will no longer freak out and lose your temper when the smallest things go wrong, and will be unable to avoid all those pesky people who didn't like you because of your temper and who now want to be your friends.

3. You will lose the physical clumsiness, lack of co-ordination and inability to touch, or even see, your toes that you have been cultivating as status symbols of the aristocratic life of leisure and ease that you lead.

4. You will mess up your shot at the gold medal in the upcoming "Couch Potato of the Year" international championship by becoming altogether too energetic.

5. Your doctor will get lonely because you don't visit as often and you have no idea what else you could do with the money you spend on various medications, or on gas going back and forth to your doctor's office.
